UPDATE 3\23: A week ago Sunday, I had tickets to see Crystal Stilts at DC9, a tiny upstairs venue in a skinny little bar in the U street area of DC. Got all the way there, checked in and then realized the band had canceled their set at the last minute due to “transportation problems.” Since I was already on the guestlist, we decided to stay for Women, a similar muddy, post punkish band (with no women in the band I should say). They were pretty good, though loud as hell. A week later, Crystal Stilts was one of the more talked about bands it seems coming out of last week’s SXSW festival. DOH.
