Okay gents… here is a little change in direction for the song I had been working on… Originally planning for this to be more straight forward and folky but somehow ended up with this. Sort of a combination of the piano sounds on “We Are Abandoned…” mixed with drum stylings of “Autographs” but hopefully its a bit less repetitive and derivative. Vocals coming…once I finish my lyrics.

i do plan to have some vocals, but its sounding a lot muddier and sort of one dynamic right now. sort of a cosmic spaghetti western folk song or something. well at least my recording stuff is working again.
Good work sir. Since this has that washy, reverbed out vibe, i think you need more of a dynamic direction/peak. All the core elements are there- the repeatable melodies, buildable guitar strums, etc, but it doesn’t really lead to a peak and resolution. Vocals will help for sure, and something different with the drums… if you want electronic, I would f with em until they don’t sound like GarageBand midi drums (think mum), or we should just record live drums. Personally, I think some very-minimalist electronic percussives are well suited.
Would you like to give some drum programming a shot for this? Or perhaps a mixture of both live and electronic for the peak of the song? I hand triggered the current beats via midi, not with a loop but yeah it does sound fake for sure. This song really has not much forward momentum right now so perhaps you have something in mind that can help in that regard.
